David Wilson Named CCAL Fellow

Congratulations to Law Firm Carolinas’ partner David Wilson, who has been named a Fellow in CAI’s College of Community Association Lawyers!

David Wilson

The College, which was created in 1994, recognizes excellence in the practice of community association law. Of the thousands of attorneys who work with homeowner and condominium associations in the US, there are fewer than 200 current CCAL Fellows. As a past national CCAL President, I can say without reservation that David reflects the high standards of professionalism, professional involvement, and passion for community association law the CCAL designation was created to spotlight.

David’s practice has been 100% HOA/condo law in both North Carolina and South Carolina since he joined Law Firm Carolinas over 10 years ago. He is a regular speaker on community association law issues, including at the CAI National Law Seminar, the CAI Annual Conference, and CAI events both in North Carolina and South Carolina. For five years he has served on the South Carolina LAC (Legislative Action Committee), and for the past two years as Chair of the SC LAC. (Because of many legislative proposals over the past several years, he spends significant time in reporting on legislative actions, talking to legislators, and drafting alternative wording for legislative proposals.) For the past six years he has served as Co-Chair of the SC Bar Law Seminar CLE. He has also reported on numerous cases for the CAI Case Law Update Committee, served on CAI’s Amicus Curiae Brief Committee, and written many HOA/condo blogs for our firm website.

In addition to David, other attorneys at Law Firm Carolinas who have been admitted to the College of Community Lawyers include Harmony Taylor and Jim Slaughter, the most CCAL Fellows of any firm in the Carolinas!
